Aloe Barbadensis Miller is the species with the highest concentration of active ingredients. Originally from the Arabian Peninsula, it adapts particularly well to volcanic and subtropical climates like that of the Canary Islands, where mineral-rich soils enhance its composition.
The aloe leaf is composed of three layers: the outer rind, the yellow latex, and the inner gel. It is this gel—obtained from the pulp—that contains the active ingredients used in cosmetics and nutrition.
Antioxidants that neutralise free radicals and stimulate collagen production.
Essential for cell regeneration and skin balance.
The main driver of deep hydration. Retains water in the inner layers of the skin.
Reduce inflammation and accelerate the breakdown of damaged tissue.
Basic protein building blocks. Fundamental for skin repair.
Antibacterial and analgesic properties. Act on bacteria responsible for acne.
Anti-inflammatory properties. Improve the lipid barrier of the skin.
Stimulate healing and regeneration of new skin cells.
Deep and long-lasting hydration
The polysaccharides in aloe, especially acemannan, form a film that retains water in the deeper dermal layers. Unlike conventional moisturizers, it does not act on the surface.
Accelerated cellular regeneration
The auxins and gibberellins in aloe vera stimulate the proliferation of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen. Studies show a significant reduction in healing time.
Clinical anti-inflammatory effect
Bradikinase inhibits the synthesis of proinflammatory prostaglandins. Effective in dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, and sunburn. Clinical studies compare it favorably with 1% hydrocortisone without its side effects.
Antimicrobial action
Anthraquinones act against bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, frequently associated with acne and superficial skin infections.
Antioxidant protection
Vitamins C and E work synergistically to neutralize free radicals caused by UV radiation and pollution, delaying premature skin aging.
